Wi-Fi phone or DECT phone?
A Wi-Fi cordless phone connects to your existing access points, so there's no base station to install. That makes it a good fit when you already have solid wireless coverage everywhere people walk. A Wi-Fi phone is only as good as the network it runs on, though. If coverage is spotty, a DECT system brings its own base station and radio band and doesn't depend on the Wi-Fi at all.
Which Wi-Fi handset?
Desk phones with built-in Wi-Fi
This collection also includes desk phones with Wi-Fi built in, like the Yealink T73W, T74W, T54W, Poly Edge E350 and Crosstalk 270. They're made for desks that don't have a network drop, so you can put a phone where you need it without running cable. Use the Form factor filter above to switch between handsets and desk phones.
Common questions
Do Wi-Fi phones roam between access points?
Yes. The WP810, WP816, WP826 and WP836 support fast roaming between access points (802.11k/r/v). In our testing the WP810 and WP820 moved between access points with barely noticeable audio skips.
Will these phones work with my phone system?
Every phone we sell is a standard SIP phone, so it registers to FreePBX, Yeastar and most hosted phone platforms. If you aren't sure about yours, email shop@crosstalksolutions.com before you order and we'll check.
