Algo 8301 SIP Paging Adapter & Scheduler
The Algo 8301 connects a VoIP phone system to an existing analog paging amplifier. It registers with your PBX as a SIP extension, so someone dials the page extension and talks, and the 8301 sends that audio to the amplifier's input. It runs on PoE, so there's no power brick.
It also has a built-in scheduler for school bells, shift changes and recorded announcements, and it can send pages over multicast to Algo IP speakers and strobes at the same time. That makes it a good fit for a building that has old analog speakers in one area and new IP speakers in another.
The 8301 needs an amplifier to drive speakers. It has a line-level output, not a speaker output. If your paging system has a phone-style talk battery input or self-amplified speakers instead, look at the Algo 8305.

Good to know
- Registers with your phone system as a standard SIP extension, so it works with most on-premise and hosted PBXs.
- Algo recommends one 8301 per amplifier. For several amplifiers, use one 8301 on each and tie them together with multicast.
- It replaces the ATA or telephone answering device that older systems used to feed an amplifier. It doesn't have an FXS port of its own.
What's in the box
- Algo 8301 paging adapter
- Wall mount bracket
Frequently asked questions
Does the Algo 8301 need an amplifier?
Yes. The 8301 has a line-level output for an existing paging amplifier. It can't drive speakers directly. For self-amplified speakers or a talk battery input, look at the Algo 8305.
How is the 8301 powered?
The 8301 runs on PoE (802.3af) and draws 4 W at most, so any PoE switch port will power it.
Can the 8301 schedule school bells?
Yes. It has a built-in scheduler that plays bells, tones and recorded announcements on a calendar, synced to an NTP server, out the line output and over multicast.
